Q: What services does My Financial Foundation offer?
A: My Financial Foundation offers a broad array of financial counseling services - focusing on very specific areas:
- Personal financial counseling
- Cash flow planning (budgeting)
- Financial crisis counseling
- Small business counseling
- Building serious wealth
- Avoiding bankruptcy
- How to stop harassing calls from creditors
- Retirement planning
- Investment goal decisions
- Review of insurance needs
- Public speaking about personal finance
Q: Who can benefit from your services?
A: Over 70% of the population in the United States lives paycheck-to-paycheck, has over $66,000.00 in unsecured debt (other than a mortgage), and has ZERO savings. Of the other 30% who have a better financial situation, only about 5% of those people have no debt, own financial assets, and have a documented financial plan to take them where they want to go.
So, if we do the math, 95% of the US population is in need of a plan to change their current situation. Singles and single moms/dads, married couples and families -- anyone who is not where they want to be financially can benefit greatly from our services.
Q: What makes you different from all the other counselors and financial companies?
A: Unlike other "Financial Planners/Counselors", our primary agenda is to sell our advice. We do not sell securities, although we are networked with many high integrity professionals to whom we can refer you. This is important because our only agenda is to help you develop a plan to make your financial life better.
Lead Counselor, Rob DeFoor, teaches from 100% experience. He used to be under an enormous amount of debt and financial strain. Through the process of cleaning up his own financial life, he has learned how to help others do the same. He has made it his business for the past several years to study the habits of the wealthy and to learn what makes them that way. We compare these simple principles to your personal situation and make changes to the areas that need work.
Today, Rob has no debt, owns his own home, and is a full-time financial coach, investor, author and public speaker. He doesn't say that to impress you, but to impress upon you, that he is not teaching anything that he have not already done himself.
Q: What areas of financial planning will we cover?
A: We will discuss all the areas of a healthy financial plan that apply to your personal situation at present. We will also address future needs. Some of the topics might include:
- Developing a Spending Plan (budgeting)
- Developing a Debt Reduction Plan
- Setting up an emergency fund
- Planning for retirement
- Planning for the kid's college
- Tithing/charitable giving
- Review of insurance needs
- Review of investment vehicles
For each area of your finances, we will ask ourselves, “What would a wealthy person do if he or she were in my position?” From those answers, we will make the necessary changes for improvement.
Q: How does the service work?
A: Before the session takes place, we will send you some brief financial forms to complete, which will give us an accurate picture of your present situation. That way we don’t have to spend our session time figuring out where you are; rather, we can focus on where you want to go.
Sessions usually last two hours – some last longer, some are shorter. We will take all the time necessary to make sure all your questions are answered. Sessions are individually tailored to your personal situation, and we won’t spend time talking about things that don’t apply specifically to you. We will come up with a specific set of action items for you to complete as part of your plan, and we will send you an electronic version of the plan we agree upon in approximately 2-3 business days later. Then, it’s up to YOU!
One month of phone or e-mail follow-up is included in the price, and you are welcome to contact us anytime to ask questions or to make changes to the plan.
Q: How can I be sure you will be able to bring any value to my situation?
A: If you can stand to improve any area, consider booking an appointment. Struggling with debt? Under stress as a married couple? Doing great and want to do better? Need to plan a better future for the kids? We can help in all of these areas.
Q: Where will we meet?
A: We can meet where you feel most comfortable. Most people prefer coming to our offices; however some clients ask that we come to their home or workplace, which we will do in certain cases.
Our office is located at 400 East Henry Street - Spartanburg, SC 29302
Q: If I am having financial trouble, how am I supposed to be able to afford a financial counselor?
A: Our response to this legitimate question is that if you can’t afford to spend $249.00-$349.00 or less on learning how to become debt free and wealthy for the rest of your life, then you DEFINITELY need to book an appointment with us. You can’t afford not to.
Our goal is to give our clients 10x the amount they pay us in solid advice - which equates to real dollars. That's a serious return on investment.
Now, we even offer a FREE "do-it-yourself" option in the form of our new personal finance manual called "Build Your Financial Foundation Today!" which allows individuals and familes to benefit from the same information, offered at a much lower cost. Click here to down the manual directly from our secure website right now - you can download it to your computer in seconds!
Q: Do you take on every client who wants to book an appointment?
A: We have a 100% track record of being able to significantly improve the financial well being of our clients. We don’t plan on breaking our winning streak. If we don’t think you are really ready and have made the decision that you are going to give a 100% effort towards improving your finances, we can’t – in good conscience – take you on as a client. If you are not willing to give it 100%, it is a waste of your money and a waste of our time. We only do business with clients who are serious about becoming financially free!
Q: Do you sell stock, or recommend specific securities?
A: No. We are not a liscenced securities broker. We are professional investors - however by law - we can not reccomend any specific securities, or companies in which you should invest your money. We have personal relationships with many securities brokers, and when it's time, we can put you in touch with a high integrity liscenced professional...should you need their services.
Q: Are you able to provide insurance services, or recommend any specific insurance companies?
A: Yes. We have an affilitation with Nationwide insurance and will gladly assist you if you need help. Our primary focus is fee-based financial advice - not soliciting new business for insurance policies. However if you as our client have a need, we can easily set up the insurance policy - at no cost to you - through our affiliation with Nationwide. If you have your own insurance agent you trust, you may certainly maintain your relationship with them. If not, we are here to help, should our clients or their family/friends need assistance.
Q: Do you give legal, accounting, tax, or other professional advice?
A: No. We are not lawyers, accountants nor tax attorneys. If you need legal, accounting, or other professional advice, you should seek the services of a compitent professional licensed in that particular area of interest.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept personal checks, money orders, cash, and even PayPal. You are on the honor system as to whether you use your credit card vs. your debit card. We do not reccommend that you buy things for which you do not have the money - as we counsel against it. This would include our personal finance manuals as well as our services. We would be saying one thing, and doing another for personal gain if we told you to use your credit card (if you are using your credit card because you don't have the money in your checking account).
You make the choice yourself, but we reccommend that you do not purchase items for which you do not have the funds set aside to pay for. We run our business with 100% integrity, and this area is no different - even if it means we stand to make less money because we advise people not to buy our program/services with "borrowed money".
Q: What is your refund/return policy?
A: My Financial Foundation has a 100% money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied for any reason. For services provided, if you are not satisfied for any reason, simply notify us at the meeting that you are not satisfied, and you won't owe a penny. For any product purchased, simply return the product in its original condition and we will refund the product purchase price. We are also available via e-mail at support@myfinancialfoundation.com.
